Why Progress Monitoring Matters

Progress monitoring can feel like “one more thing” on an already full plate, but when we use it with intention, it becomes one of the most powerful tools we have in MTSS-B. In this blog post, Natalie, one of our coaches, walks through how a campus team used progress monitoring data to move from guessing to getting clear, and how one small adjustment led to meaningful change for a student.

Ultimately, progress monitoring is not about the data, it’s about having information that helps us discover patterns, reflect on practices, and guide decision-making for better student outcomes. Data helps educators respond rather than react, make smarter decisions, and support student behavioral success.

Watch the full video blog to see how progress monitoring supports more flexible, responsive interventions, so students and staff can experience real wins over time.
